The lilipopo pattern club

an embroidery of a girl looking at a bird on a branch

The lilipopo pattern club began in April 2022 and spring bird was the very first pattern. |I first set it up because I realised I was doing less and less designing and more and more business admin. My idea was that if I had to produce a new design each month I would be forced to prioritise designing, and it worked. Originally it was a downloadable pdf pattern every month that was exclusive to the pattern club for three months (and a little cheaper than buying patterns individually). Four years on and the pattern club runs on very similar lines. The patterns are exclusive for at least six months (often longer) and you can now join a printed panel tier if you prefer not to have to trace the patterns. Most of my most popular patterns were at one time part of the pattern club.

Over the years the designs have been inspired by all kinds of gentle daily activities such as knitting, stitching, reading and enjoying nature (exactly what I would put down in my hobbies section). There are tutorials about transferring patterns, stitches, a tutorial for stitching your panels into a book and a simple cushion tutorial. I am gradually adding to the tutorials.

Last year I decided to have a themed year of fairy/folk tales with an embroidery design and the story that had inspired it.

I really enjoyed the year, finding stories I hadn’t heard before and old favourites. I absolutely love folklore and stories generally so this year there will be some poems, some folklore, some real life inspiration and some stories.

So far there has been a pattern based on an Emily Dickinson poem, a little astronomer loosely inspired by the book ‘the little prince’ by Antoine de Saint Exupery and a pattern inspired by Mary Anning the fossil hunter from Lyme Regis.

The patterns are not complicated to stitch and I am always happy to help if you get stuck with the stitching.

The pattern club is hosted on Patreon. This means that you sign up to Patreon and then join the lilipopo membership.

The main point of the pattern club is the monthly pattern but I do also add occasional tutorials and am always happy to answer any stitchy questions. There is a chat page too.

There are two tiers for the UK and three tiers for international stitchers. The pdf pattern tier is £4 plus any taxes or VAT. The panel tiers are charged according to the country you are in.

Tier 1 - for both UK and international stitchers - the downloadable pdf pattern tier.

Each month (on the 1st) I will upload an embroidery pattern for that month that you can download and trace. You need to download it when you receive the email as it is removed the following month (if you forget I am happy to email it over).

Tier 2 - for UK stitchers - the panel tier

Each month you will still receive the pdf download (this contains your instructions for stitching) but you will also receive a printed organic cotton panel of the design by post. This is usually sent out around the 7th of the month.

Tier 3 - for international stitchers - the panel tier

This tier is exactly the same as the UK tier but includes the cost of international postage. So you will receive a printed organic cotton panel of the design by post. The panels usually take about a week to arrive but they can get held up at customs for longer.

Tier 4 - for international stitchers - 3 monthly panels

This tier was created to save a little postage for international stitchers. You will receive 3 panels every three months. The first three panels will arrive in the third month after you join.

You are free to leave the pattern club at any time you simply need to go into your patreon account, click on the lilipopo membership and cancel your membership. At this point you can stay a free member or cancel completely. Free members can access the tutorial posts but don’t receive the patterns.

If you would like to join or take a closer look you can find the pattern club here
